Roslyn Grist Mill Rehabilitation

GEODesign is providing geotechnical engineering and foundation design services for repair of the Roslyn Grist Mill in Roslyn, New York. The mill is a timber framed structure which was originally built in the mid 1700s. It is being raised and rehabilitated for use as an educational visitor’s center.

The new concrete foundations and sill plates are in place. Many of the existing timber members have been taken off site to be rehabilitated or replaced, depending on the condition of the member. Once the timber framing is rebuilt, the building will be lowered onto its new foundations.
