Repair of Town Road Sliding Failure in Weybridge, Vermont

Gooseneck Bend Road, located in Weybridge, Vermont experienced sliding failure. GEODesign worked with Dubois & King (site civil engineer) to design a stabilization to be constructed with FEMA funds. Key challenges included avoiding archaeologically sensitive areas and wetland areas, installing the rip-rap key below river level using stream diversion and dewatering measures, and accessing the slope and constructing the repairs over the shallow, soft clay soils.
