We were retained to protect the safety of MNR’s passengers by providing rock slope engineering services for all of MNR’s rock slopes along the New York state portions of the Harlem, Hudson, New Haven, and Port Jervis rail lines. This includes over 260 rock slopes throughout the Bronx, Westchester, Putnam, Dutchess, Orange, and Rockland counties.
Our overall approach to this concern focused on evaluating rock slope conditions with respect to the safe passage of passengers and crew, along with railroad equipment. We were charged with designing cost-effective rock slope remediation measures that could be implemented within the tight constraints of an operating railroad, and confirming that the remediation measures are implemented in accordance with the design intent.
