PROJECT OVERVIEW

Camas, Washington Pool Stabilization

STABILIZING A STRUCTURE BUILT ON LOOSE FILL SOILS

The original pool structure at this private residence was constructed by building a 4-sided retaining wall structure on a small hillside, placing backfill within the walls, and constructing a new pool on top. Within a year after construction was completed, over 2 inches of settlement and 1 inch of horizontal movement of the structure was observed. As movement of the pool structure continued, GEOMechanics was hired to investigate and provide a design solution.

Camas, Washington Pool Stabilization

GEOMechanics served as the geotechnical consultant, performing subsurface investigation to diagnose the source of movement of the pool structure. We also designed stabilization measures to prevent further settlement of the structure.
