25 Park Row

NEW ADDITION TO THE MANHATTAN SKYLINE

25 Park Row is a 700-foot-tall residential building located in Lower Manhattan. The building provides views of many architectural landmarks, including City Hall, the Woolworth Building, a skyscraper that was once the world’s tallest building, and One World Trade Center, which is currently the tallest building in the western hemisphere. 25 Park Row also has a historic neighbor in 15 Park Row, sometimes simply called the “Park Row Building”, which was built in 1899 and served as one of the first skyscraper-office buildings in New York City. The two buildings next to each other provide an interesting juxtaposition of past and present architectural designs.

25 Park Row

We provided geotechnical engineering, support of excavation (SOE) design and construction inspection services. The building is supported on 650-ton, 16-inch diameter, caissons that are socketed into Manhattan Schist bedrock. The complicated SOE for the two cellar levels included drilled soldier piles and an internal bracing system that resisted lateral loads from the adjacent MTA subway structure.
